The 10 Lowest Paying College Majors

10 Lowest paying college majors

Over the next decade, My four kids will graduate from high school and (likely) head to college. With 16 years of college coming, I have spent a lot of time researching college majors and careers. One intriguing recent study lists the ten lowest paying college majors. (Ironically, my wife and I together have degrees in 3 out of the 10 lowest paying college majors.) So far we have avoided living in homeless shelters, but we are looking to prepare our kids well in choosing careers. Could it be that many of these subjects would be better pursued as hobbies rather than careers? Let the debate begin. But here are the ten lowest paying college majors:

1.  Anthropology/Archeology (Jurassic park doesn’t pay like it used to)

Median Salary: $28,000

2.  Film, Video, and Photographic Arts (Toys R-Us is Hiring)

Median Salary: $30,000

3.  Fine Arts (Welcome to Community Theatre)
